How to get to SkyPoint
The Gold Coast Observation Deck, SkyPoint, is at the top of the Q1 tower in the Surfers Paradise district of the Gold Coast. The way up starts in its lobby at street level, by the corner of Surfers Paradise Boulevard and Hamilton Avenue, where the tram stops right outside.
From Gold Coast Airport to SkyPoint by bus and tram
Gold Coast Airport has no tram of its own: an express bus links it to the G:link tram line, which runs north along the coast to the foot of Q1.
-
Bus 777 to Burleigh Heads
The limited-stop express runs from the airport to Stockland Burleigh Heads on West Burleigh Road, where it meets the tram.
-
G:link tram north to Surfers Paradise
Take a tram towards Helensvale and get off at Surfers Paradise station, not Surfers Paradise North. Tram trips cost a flat A$0.50.
-
SkyPoint lobby
The station is directly in front of the lobby, where you buy or scan your ticket.
-
Lift to Level 77
The lift takes 38 seconds to the observation deck.
Other ways to reach SkyPoint
From Brisbane and Brisbane Airport: take a Gold Coast line train to Helensvale, where it meets the G:link; most of these trains start at the Brisbane Airport terminals. From Helensvale, ride the tram south to Surfers Paradise station.
On foot: it is about a 6-minute walk from the centre of Surfers Paradise.
By car: 50 free visitor spaces are in the car park under Q1, entered from Hamilton Avenue just after the resort drop-off. They are first come, first served, for the length of your visit; register your car in the lobby while you wait for the lift. The nearest public car parks are Centro Surfers Paradise on Hanlan Street and Bruce Bishop on Beach Road.
Tour buses: coaches drop passengers at the Q1 Resort drop-off on Hamilton Avenue and park elsewhere.
